About the Blog:

I think most travelers have experienced that feeling of doing and seeing all of these amazing things, racking up amazing stories, and then coming home to deaf ears. The first time I experienced that, I decided to open up a place for myself to share my stories for those who were interested in listening. It wasn’t until October of 2013 that I decided it was time to turn Rant & Roam into what you see today.

Rant & Roam is now much more than a hobby. We strive to serve the following 3 goals with our site:

1.  Demonstrate that you don’t need a big budget for big adventures

2.  Keep it human–which means always real and honest

3.  Highlight the fact that travel is more than an activity, it’s a mindset

Rant & Roam is also particularly interested in trying local delicacies–whether it’s Yorkshire puddings or insects, we believe that eating the local food provides a little window into culture. We also love highlighting quirky sights and stops, and finding the hidden places that invoke wanderlust in our own backyards!

  1. I never tire of hearing or reading about people “living outside of themselves” and their “known world” and seeing what there is out in the “great unknown.” It isn’t always pretty, but it’s almost always rewarding. Keep traveling and keep exploring, Amber Ray; I’m pleased to follow your WP blog!

    1. I think you put it just perfectly–it isn’t always pretty! Sometimes things are difficult, or make you think harder about things you thought you already had figured out… but that’s what makes it worth it, too! Thanks for following!
